- Lenni
Hirsh's Gallery of Paintings and Carousel Art -
- For many years I taught young people that everyone possesses
the power to create. I insisted they avoid using a fixed standard
or superficial ratings to judge themselves or to compare their
art to that of another artist. Yet, until I returned to painting
in oils, I never fully tested this credo on my own artwork.
I taught art (and loved teaching) and I illustrated various
projects simply because it was my job and I could do it well.
Now, at last, I have discovered I can paint and draw for the
simple joy of creating art. My style is representational and
often nearly photo-realistic. My focus is children ...children
I know, children I have photographed in my travels and now a
new love... children on carousels. My world is expanding.

had dozens of sculpted figures hand carved by relatively few
immigrant artists.
